Fredokiss (real name Penjani Kaula) is one of the popular musicians in Malawi.

He was born on 28 March 1986 in Lilongwe and grew up in a family comprising his uncle, aunt, sister, brother, grandmother and cousins in Chirimba, Blantyre where the family had moved to.

He and his twin sister are last born to Kamlepo Kaula who is a veteran politician.

He graduated from Chirimba Primary School and Chichiri Secondary School.

In secondary school, he performed Tupac Shakur songs with his elder brother and close friend Jolly Bro during fashion shows and used to imitate established artists.

During his second year at Chanco (University of Malawi, Chancellor College), he released his first official singles ‘Basi’ and ‘Woza’ which received airplay on many local radio stations.

‘Zausilu ft Young Kay and Martse’ and ‘Tipsy’ released in 2015 are one of his masterpieces.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health in 2009 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at WITS University in South Africa.

He is a project manager at IHDC (Institute of Health and Development Communication) and a Lecturer at Chanco.

He was NBS Bank Brand Ambassador and UNICEF Malawi Champion for Children in 2018, but he has relinquished their roles for further ambitions to be a politician.
