Getting there and away
Machinga is situated alongside the M3 about 100km north of Blantyre, 30km north of Zomba and 15km south of Liwonde. The road is surfaced and in good condition, but taking traffic into account, allow 80 minutes to drive from Blantyre in a private vehicle, and 3-4hours from Lilongwe. Minibuses run regularly from Zomba (30minutes), Limbe (three hours) and Mangochi (two hours).
